History

The beginnings of the Great Commission Church International (GCCI) dates back to 1976 on the campus of the University of Ghana, Legon, when eight young men and women received a call from the Lord into ministry. The young men were Joseph Felix Kwesi Mensah (popularly called JFK), Daniel Adom, Joseph Kwabena Antwi, and Samuel Asuming-Brempong.

The ladies were Joyce Gagakuma, Georgina Dzeble, Elizabeth Asare Baah, and Stella Andoh. As they ministered to the Lord and fasted, the Holy Spirit said to them that He was sending them to the late Evangelist David Kwami Asiam of the Gospel Revivals Ministry (GRM) who will train them for the work ahead.

The initial eight people led by JFK Mensah established a fellowship on the university campus under GRM and won many souls to the Lord.
